Kotkapura: Amarinder Singh has been replaced Punjab His government as Chief Minister was running from Delhi on the instructions of BJP, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said.
Vadra was addressing ‘Navi Soch, Nawa Punjab’ in Kotkapura, Punjab.
Referring to Singh’s tenure as chief minister, Vadra, without naming him, said, “It is true that our government was here for five years, it is also true that there were some shortcomings in that government. Got lost somewhere on the way. ,
“That government stopped running from Punjab. That government started running from Delhi and that too not by the Congress but by the BJP and the BJP-led government,” he said.
“That hidden alliance has come to the fore today. That’s why we had to change that government,” Vadra said.
Singh had resigned as chief minister in September last year following a power struggle with the state Congress chief. Navjot Singh Sidhu,
Singh later left the Congress and started his own party, Punjab Lok Congress (PLC).
The PLC is contesting the state assembly elections in alliance with the BJP and the Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa-led Shiromani Akali Dal (United).
Vadra also hit out at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and said that it is planning to rule Punjab from Delhi if it comes to power.
He said, “There is another political party which has come from Delhi. You are being shown the Delhi model through advertisements and people come to you and promote the Delhi model and the work done by the government in Delhi.”
He attacked the Aam Aadmi Party, accusing it of doing nothing in Delhi and saying that its government has “failed”.
“There is nothing in the name of educational and health care institutions in Delhi. It is important to know the truth about political parties and their leaders.”
He said, “BJP came to power at the Center by misleading people in 2014, by showing its Gujarat model, AAP is also following the same path by selling its Delhi model in Punjab to grab power. I want both of you as Don’t be misled. Models of Gujarat and Delhi are present only in advertisements.”
