The Delhi High Court on Friday asked sports authorities to shift the venue of the Indian Olympic Association’s annual general body meeting to be held on December 19 from Guwahati to the national capital.
The direction comes in the backdrop of allegations that elections to the executive committee of the association were being held illegally.
A special bench of Justice Manmohan and Justice Najmi Waziri also appointed a retired judge as the administrator of the meeting and said the meeting would be held at the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) building in Delhi.

The high court, which had earlier directed to maintain status quo on the IOA executive committee elections, which were scheduled to be held on December 19, said it would hear the matter on December 23.
The High Court had passed the interim order on November 30 on an application by senior advocate Rahul Mehra.
Mehra has submitted that the proposed election to be held on December 19 was completely illegal and untenable and the petition and the various applications pending before it should not be heard and finalized.
He had claimed that the IOA has notified its elections and is proposing to hold it in violation of court orders, law of the land, Indian National Sports Development Code and several other directions.

Mehra had sought directions to the Center to desist from acting arbitrarily or indulging in action in gross violation and abandonment of its duties.
He had also urged the court to conduct the elections again.
