Amidst violence in Manipur and Nagpur, Rajnath Singh’s message to citizens – demonstration 1, stay united

New Delhi: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday urged the citizens to keep the country first and be united as they praised the Northeast’s contribution to the security of the country.

He also said that like Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh, India had integrated Jammu and Kashmir without firing.

The Defense Minister was speaking at the Major Bob Khating Memorial event jointly organized by the Indian Army, Assam Rifles and United Services Institution of India (USI).

A Naga from Manipur, Khathing In 1951, Tawang is known for his campaign in remote areas of Tawang, which paved the way for its integration with the rest of India.

Later, he served as Indian Ambassador to Myanmar From 1972 to 1975. The NAGA officer was decorated with the Military Cross (MC), the most outstanding order of the British Empire (MBE) and later in 1957 with the Padma Shri. Khating became the Chief Secretary of Nagaland in 1967.

Singh called upon people to discharge his duties with honesty, and moved forward fearlessly towards achieving his goals, which were the main principles of Major Khating, an extraordinary person who made invaluable contribution to the North Eastern Region and National Security, a statement of the Ministry of Defense said.

Manipur comes to the Defense Minister’s comment amidst continuous violence, which has seen complete breakdown of law and order, and tension in Nagpur and other parts of the country.

Singh said that India is lucky for prominent personalities for whom the security, integrity and sovereignty of the nation is paramount.

He appreciated the role of Major Khating not only in integration, developing and reconstruction of the entire Northeast region, but also the entire Northeast region.

He said, “Major Bob Khating contributed significantly in strengthening national unity.

He said that Major Khathing carried out the integration of Tawang in India without efficiently, and the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi follows the principles of such revolutionaries.

He said, “We merged Jammu and Kashmir in India by removing the biggest obstacle with complete security, keeping in mind all the stakeholders, without firing a firing of Jammu and Kashmir, and merged Jammu and Kashmir in India.”
