JK Security: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to chair a high-level meeting in New Delhi today (April 13) to review the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir. According to officials, the meeting has been scheduled after an encounter between terrorists and security forces in Chakura area of Shopian on Wednesday.
The meeting is likely to be held at the North Block office of the Ministry of Home Affairs at around 3 pm. During the meeting, Shah is expected to assess how the security grid is working and other security-related issues and give necessary directions to follow the policy of zero-tolerance against terrorism in the Valley.
The meeting will be attended by several top-level leaders and officials including Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha, Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla, Director General of Police J&K Dilbag Singh and other senior officials of the Home Ministry. and Central Armed Police Forces.

Many high officials will attend the meeting
Apart from this, Intelligence Bureau Director Tapan Deka, Central Reserve Police Force Director General SL Thousen, RAW chief and other senior officers of the Center will also be present. According to reports, issues related to various development works being done in Jammu and Kashmir are also expected to be on the agenda of the meeting.
Earlier in October 2022, Home Minister Shah had visited Jammu and Kashmir to take stock of the security situation in the union territory. Besides this, they also held a review meeting on the security situation and development aspects of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir on December 28, 2022 in New Delhi.
Jammu and Kashmir benefited from the removal of Article 370: Center
Meanwhile, Union Law and Justice Minister Kiren Rijiju claimed that after the abrogation of Article 370, the benefits of government schemes have reached the last person in the Valley.
“We are here in Udhampur and have already distributed aid material, subsidy checks and other benefits to the beneficiaries through Government of India schemes. I am happy to say that this happened because of the abrogation of Article 370. Now, government schemes have reached the border villages of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
The minister addressed an awareness cum mega legal aid camp organized at Riwayat Hall in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the purpose of the visit to the district is to assess the implementation of development and welfare programs initiated by the Government of India.
