Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has directed the school education authorities to expedite the purchase of tabs for students of class 8 and above for the next academic year.
In a review meeting on Friday, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy said that technology should be used so that children in government schools can take maximum advantage of it.
He directed the officials to publish the books in PDF format on the website, which would be available free of cost to all. He said that private schools can download them for printing.
Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy said, “If private schools want to buy books from the government at nominal rates, set a cut-off date and provide them.”
The Chief Minister immediately directed the officers to appoint a special officer to supervise the management of the schools with SMF (School Maintenance Fund) and TMF (Toilet Maintenance Fund) to the officers in the works done simultaneously with the SMF and TMF. instructed to accelerate. He said that the maintenance of schools including internet facilities, RO plant and chairs should be of high quality and should be given priority.
With regard to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the education sector, which has 12 indicators, the Chief Minister asked the officials to personally monitor them and report them.
Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy asked the officials to train the women police and ANM workers, who would be visiting the school. Further, he directed them to appoint a female teacher as a permanent counselor in the school.
He also asked the officials to closely monitor the mid-day meal program in the State and prepare an SOP to bridge the gaps, if any.
Apart from preparing an action plan for installation of digital screens in all classrooms, the Chief Minister also directed to fill up all the divisional and division level education officers before the next review meeting.
On CBSE affiliation to 1,308 schools, officials told the chief minister that 120 schools had been awarded certificates and the rest would be received by the end of this month.
