Roads & Buildings, Infrastructure and Investments Minister B. C. Janardhan Reddy on Saturday said that the Andhra Pradesh government would get 2.7% of revenue share in the Kakinada Gateway Port.
The port is being built at an estimated cost of ₹2,621 crore in the Kakinada Special Economic Zone (KSEZ) by the Kakinada Gateway Port Limited, a subsidiary of Auro Infra Private Limited, at Kona in Kakinada district.
Mr. Janardhan Reddy on Saturday inspected the construction of the port and directed the A.P. Maritime Board and Revenue authorities to speed up the land acquisition to commission the port by mid-2026.
Later, Mr. Janardhan Reddy has inspected the Kakinada Anchorage port owned by the State government.
“The Kakinada Anchorage Port has earned ₹68 crore in the financial year 2024-25 in which 3.88 million metric tonnes of paddy has been exported”, said Mr. Janardhan Reddy.
In his visit to Uppada fishing harbour, the Minister has announced that the harbour would be commissioned by the end of this year.
Speaking to newsmen at Uppada harbour, Mr. Janardhan Reddy has said that the challenges for better road connectivity of ports and harbours with national highways would be addressed soon.
A.P. Maritime Board Chairman D. Satya, A.P. Maritime Board CEO Mr. Praveen Aditya, Kakinada city MLA Vanamadi Venkateswara Rao and other officials were present.
