Samsung has started rolling out the latest Android security patch to Galaxy S21 series smartphone. The lineup includes the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+ and . Are included Galaxy S21 Ultra. According to a report by GSMArena, all three smartphones have started receiving the Android security patch of May 2022.
The update has firmware version G991BXXU5CVDD and currently, the update is being rolled out in Italy. The company is expected to expand the rollout to other regions soon.
According to the report, the update will be rolled out in the European region first and then soon it will be followed in other markets as well.
The update does not bring any significant changes or new features apart from the Android security patch.
Galaxy S21 series owners in Italy will get the update OTA update notification. Alternatively, there is also an option to manually check for updates by going to Settings → Software Update.
For those unaware, Samsung recently rolled out the May Android security patch to its Galaxy S22 series smartphones which includes Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra. In addition, the company recently updated its mid-range smartphones – the M series and Galaxy A series phones – to the Android 12 operating system. Along with this, the company also rolled out One UI 4.1 update which brings all the latest user interface features and changes to those phones.
