Google has introduced new features on the Gmail platform for Android users. The tech giant will introduce a new search filter in Gmail. These search filters will prove to be very beneficial in giving accurate results.
The company has announced the new feature on the Workspace forum. Last year, the company added a similar feature to the web version of Gmail.
The new feature will help users find relevant emails more easily using easy-to-access filters. The new filters will include ‘From’, ‘Sent’, ‘Date’ and ‘Attachment’ options. These options can be found under the search bar in Gmail on Android devices. Therefore, users can tap on any option before or after searching for an email in their inbox, just like its desktop counterpart.
These search filters will go a long way in scouring through a huge amount of e-mails and getting accurate results.
To use the filter, users must type in the name of the filter before typing anything in the search bar to quickly access relevant emails. Additionally, filters can also be applied after the search is performed to further narrow down the results.
The new feature for the Gmail application will be rolled out in phases. However, according to an ANI report, some users have claimed to have received it. Reports suggest that Google is following an extended rollout schedule.
To get the latest feature, Android users can update their Gmail application from the Play Store. Users who have still not been able to see this feature, they will get this feature by the end of October.
For users who are not able to see the enabled feature in the Gmail app on their Android device even after updating it from the Play Store, Google said that the feature will be available by the end of October.
