Hollywood star Angelina Jolie, who played Thena in Chloe Zhao’s superhero film Eternal, describes her character as someone who is not very comfortable in times of peace and this trait stems from the character’s moral injury. .
Due to her special ability to manipulate cosmic energy to increase her life force, which gives her virtual impenetrability and immortality, Thena is known to be a social misfit. Commenting on this, Angelina says, “Thena is like a soldier haunted by memories of war and who has PTSD or moral injury to live with. Thena just believes that instead of caring and kindness, there is a feeling on her. The fight is coming.”
Talking about the complexities of her character, Angelina says, “So she’s pretty wired, and a lot of her struggle rests on her mind and her center and her calmness. I understand her, and How does she feel?”
