When it rains, it pours. Aparna Balamurali knows this very well.

Back in February 2019, his two projects – Tamil film Sarvam Thala Miami and malayalam film Allu Ramendrani – Issued on the same day. Cut to 2022 and the pattern repeats itself. Both Vitala Vishyam and his first web series, Fingertip Season 2 (on ZEE5), releasing this Friday.

“It feels great. I have been waiting for the release for a while now, and there are two projects coming up that day which are extra special,” says Aparna.

It revolves around the lives of six individuals affected by the ever-changing digital space. “When the director (Sivakar Srinivasan) narrated the story, I was interested because it is a subject that society needs to see and learn from. The tech-thriller genre is very interesting. Most of us can relate to topics like negativity on social media, which this season also showcases.”

This is Aparna’s first web series, and she is looking to explore more space in the future. “It’s an interesting way of conveying a story. While the cinema gets over in a matter of hours, packed with all the twists and turns, a web-series allows you to end every episode on a high level ‘What’s next’ gives you a different kind of adrenaline rush.

Aparna gained popularity among Tamil cinema fans thanks to her role Surya-Starrer sorarai potru (2020), a film which she considers to be ‘life changing’. “Not only because of the fame it brought post-release, but also because of the intense training and workshops that took place prior to its filming. It helps me even when I am on the sets of any film,” she says.

“We all know what a big star Suriya is, but the character I played (Bommi) was a strong, independent woman chasing her dreams. Even today women come up to me and tell me that they want to be like Bommi. It is a huge compliment,” says Aparna, who is currently doing a Malayalam film thangam With Vineeth Srinivasan and few other Malayalam projects in the pipeline, “I am also looking forward to films like Vitala VishyamWhich makes you feel at home in theatres. ,

Aparna comes from a family of musicians. Both her parents are into music. “I have been listening to them since childhood. I am the kind of person who cries after listening to certain songs; Music means a lot to me. I hope to sing in films and also work on some original songs at some point.
