Dear Team,
It was great to join you at the Global Staff Meeting on Friday. From our remarkable new product line-up to our values-driven work around climate change, racial equality and privacy, there was much to celebrate. It was a great opportunity to reflect on our many achievements and discuss what’s going through your mind.
I am writing today because I heard that many of you were incredibly disappointed to see the contents of the meeting leaked to journalists. This comes after a product launch in which most of the details of our announcements were also leaked to the press.
I want you to know that I share your frustration. These opportunities to connect as a team are really important. But they only work if we can trust that the content will remain within Apple. I want to assure you that we are doing everything possible to identify the leakers. As you know, we do not tolerate the disclosure of confidential information, whether it is product IP or confidential meeting details. We know that the number of leakers is very less. We also know that the people leaking confidential information are not from here.
As we look forward, I want to thank you for all you’ve done to make our products a reality and for whatever you’ll do to get them into the hands of customers. Yesterday we released iOS 15, iPadOS 15, and watchOS 8, and Friday marks the moment we share some of our incredible new products with the world. There is nothing better than this. We will continue to measure our contribution to the lives we change, the connections we foster, and the work we do to leave the world a better place.
Thanks,
Tim
