Apple may launch a cheaper Amazon Fire TV Stick rival – Times of India

Apple TV (4K) is a powerful and impressive streaming box. Even more so, if you are deeply invested in Apple Ecosystem. However, it is still quite typical in India because amazon fire tv stick dominate the market. One of the reasons buyers shun the Apple TV (4K) is its price – starting at Rs 18,990. However, according to a new report, Apple is working on a cheaper alternative.
According to a report by 9to5Mac, which cites renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, a cheaper alternative to the Apple TV (4K) could be in the works. Kuo said in a note that the device is expected to launch in the second half of 2022 as Apple seeks to “improve the cost structure”.
He further added that “Apple’s aggressive strategy of integrating hardware, content and service amid the slowdown will help bridge the gap with its competitors.”
Earlier, Bloomberg had reported that Apple is also working on a different variant of the Apple TV. A Bloomberg report suggested that the new Apple TV set-top-box will also integrate a smart speaker and have camera capabilities. Bloomberg reports that “such a device combines an iPad with a HomePod speaker and includes a camera for video chats.” If this product launches it will be pretty much the same heroine Echo Show device.
The cheaper Apple TV could give Apple a boost in the streaming box/stick space. Apple has always maintained that the Apple TV has the fastest processor, which improves streaming content as well as playing games. Not to forget, the Apple TV makes it quite intuitive to connect with other Apple devices as well.
