Apple Studio Display gets a new update, webcam quality improved

Apple has released an update to the Studio Display firmware, which is now available with the beta release of macOS Monterey 12.4. As reported by The Verge, developers can now install this update, while users will be able to install it from Apple’s public beta program.

“This beta update includes improvements to Studio Display camera tuning, including improved noise reduction, contrast and framing,” a company spokesperson said in the report on Tuesday.

Once users have installed the developer or public beta, they can update their displays by going to System Preferences and then Software Update.

The report says that once the update is installed, users can see the results of Apple’s tweaks.

Earlier this month, the company released macOS Monterey 12.3.1, a minor update to the macOS Monterey operating system that was launched in October.

macOS 12.3.1 includes fixes for USB-C or Thunderbolt displays that won’t turn on when connected as a second display to the 2018 Mac Mini.

The tech giant has also fixed an issue where Bluetooth devices such as game controllers would disconnect from the Mac when Beats headphones were connected.
