Army Training Command ties up with Amity University to open Center of Excellence

New Delhi: The Army Training Command (ARTRAC) of the Indian Army has joined hands with Amity University to set up a ‘Centre of Excellence’ for studies in engineering and technology.

As part of the MoU, the Army will “sponsor officers to undergo on-campus and off-campus educational programs. In addition, collaborative research in areas of mutual interest such as “physics, engineering, pharmacy, management,” and social science”. In addition, there will be exchange of faculty and experts between the two organisations, promoting research and innovation, the university said.

The center also focuses on emerging areas of science and technology including “information warfare or security, wireless communications, robotics, automation, surveillance, underwater acoustics and communications, chemical storage, handling, transport and disposal” in addition to areas such as environment and energy. will focus. The focus will also be on systems technologies, supply chain management.

Army officials said that Indian forces need to adopt new technologies and hence the best talent from military and civilian should come together to create a robust system.

Prior to the ARTRAC alliance, Amity had partnered with the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) in September to launch a specialized defense technology curriculum to enhance the human resource pool in the region and generate talent for creating start-ups. Can go
