Former India cricketer Arun Lal has resigned as the coach of the Bengal cricket team. The former Indian opener led Bengal to the semi-finals and final of the Ranji Trophy in 2022 and 2020. He resigned citing fatigue from conceding defeat. He was quoted by anandbazaar.com as saying that he is exhausted and can no longer work.
Talking to anandbazaar.com, Lal said, “I am exhausted. It has been nine months and physically I cannot move anymore.”
CAB secretary Snehasish Ganguly said, “The decision has been accepted, but it is too early to talk about who will be Lal’s successor.”
