Whereas, Punjab CM Mann reiterated that for decades only private transporters had driven their buses on this route and looted people.

“It is a historic occasion when the Punjab Government has fulfilled its promise to the people by ending the monopoly of private transporters and introducing affordable and luxury travel to IGI Airport in approx. 1,100 one way fare except Amritsar from where the fare will be 1390 because of the long distance traveled,” Mann said.

Seven Volvo buses will run daily from Jalandhar Bus Stand to Delhi Airport. Similarly, daily similar buses from Amritsar, Pathankot, Ludhiana, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Patiala and even Chandigarh will leave for the airport for the convenience of the passengers. Mann claimed that with the running of these buses, passengers would get a comfortable, luxurious and affordable journey to the IGI airport.

Those buses can be booked online three months before the journey and offline at the counter six months before the journey.

“It is a historic occasion when the Punjab government has fulfilled its promise made to the people by ending the monopoly of private transporters and introducing affordable and luxury travel to IGI airport at just Rs 1,170,” Kejriwal said. Addressing the gathering in Jalandhar.

Mann said that with the new bus service, the transport mafia will also become a thing of the past.

Among other things, Mann said that his government would do everything possible to protect the interests of Punjabis and eliminate all kinds of mafia or monopolies from the state.
