Aryan Khan drug case: Sameer Wankhede warns he has just filed a case, says he has ‘six months to investigate’ – Times of India

Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Director Sameer Wankhede, who recently arrested a Nigerian national chinadu igwe Regarding Mumbai cruise drug bust, says they have just filed a case and they have about six months to investigate.

Igwe was arrested after allegedly receiving 40 Ecstasy pills from him. With this the number of people arrested so far in the case has gone up to 18 and it includes Shahrukh Khanson of Aryan Khan.

Talking to a news channel, Wankhede praised his team’s performance last year. He said that he has registered more than 100 cases including the work done by his team in Maharashtra and Goa. Sameer also said that he has made over 300 arrests, many of them caught peddlers with commercial amounts, who have taken action against organized gangs setting up their manufacturing units and mini-labs in the heart of Mumbai.

The drug case of Rhea Chakraborty and its links with Bollywood celebrities brought NCB into the limelight. Now, they are again in the limelight when they arrested Aryan Khan in a recent raid on a luxury ship en route to Goa.

Sameer, however, denied that the agency was specifically targeting Bollywood. He said, “I would not like to quote or point to any particular case. All matters are important to us. All angles including financials are important to us. We are taking action up to the peddler level. We came to know that it (drug). Misuse) is a deeply rooted problem in Mumbai and Goa. We are fortunate that we are working for NCB. This is a national service, it is an issue of national interest. We will fight it till the end.”
