The 3,570 km long Bharat Jod Yatra led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi entered Delhi on 24 December. The yatra will stop for a few days and will resume in January 2023. So far the padyatra has covered a distance of about 3,000 kms.
Rahul Gandhi, who was wearing a T-shirt in the bitter cold of the national capital, wore T-shorts again on Wednesday. He finally replied to the surprised media persons wearing a T-shirt in the bitter cold of North India.
“T-shirt hi chal rahi aur jab tak chal rahi hai…” Gandhi told media persons as quoted by ANI.
Social media platforms were flooded with reactions after Congress leaders posted visuals of Rahul Gandhi walking in a T-shirt. People pointed out how Rahul Gandhi wore only a T-shirt in the bitter cold with the temperature in Delhi on Monday at 8-9 degree Celsius.
“Delhi’s morning temperature was 9 degree Celsius. Only in T-shirts? From where do you get so much energy brother @RahulGandhi,” wrote a user.
Journalist Ajit Anjum tweeted in Hindi, “Dude, why is this man not feeling cold? All are in coats and jackets, this person is seen in half T-shirt. While it is getting bitterly cold in Delhi today. #RahulGandhi #BharatJodaYatra.
Some said it resulted from the power of mental, physical, emotional and spiritual fitness and compared them to monks in the mountains of snow.
“Many people are commenting about #RahulGandhi ji in just a T-shirt in this cold. This is the power of mental, physical, emotional and spiritual fitness. Tehseen Poonawalla tweeted, “Due to meditation and fitness our body becomes desensitized to extreme cold (images of monks in snow-capped mountains).
A user even warned Rahul Gandhi that this practice may not be healthy and may also lead to serious health complications.
“It’s chilly weather in Delhi, temperature is below 7 degrees and #RahulGandhi in T-shirt ?? Please someone tell her that not protecting yourself from cold weather can lead to cardiac or paralysis attacks!
