Today, Mr Gehlot criticized the ruling party over internal affairs, saying the border dispute was not as big a crisis as what he called an attack on India’s Constitution.

“The executive, judiciary and other offices have different roles, but they are part of the same system. Look at the situation in the Enforcement Directorate, Income Tax, Central Bureau of Investigation,” he said. Central agencies have been “weaponized” to target opposition parties.

Mr Gehlot also claimed that the judiciary was being pressurized by the government, and suggested that even the Election Commission of India was not functioning independently.
