Asia Cup 2022: Virat Kohli obliges Pakistani fan for selfie after practice session in Dubai

On Wednesday, August 25, Virat Kohli took time out from his busy training schedule to make a Pakistani fan’s day at the ICC Academy in Dubai. After finishing his first training session on India’s arrival in the United Arab Emirates, Kohli was on his way back to the team bus when a Pakistani fan caught his attention by requesting a photo opportunity with the superstar cricketer.

In a video that is going viral on social media, the guard of the ICC Academy can be seen stopping a fan when he tries to approach Kohli, but the former India captain saw the turn of events and asked for his and other cricket fans. “I am not a fan of anyone else in the world but Virat Kohli. I waited a month to take a selfie from Virat Kohli. I saw him go back from training, I tried hard to take a selfie with him. He heard my voice and was compelled to take a selfie,” said the fan, adding that he was emotional after he managed to strike up a conversation with Kohli.

Virat Kohli will make his much-awaited return to competitive action in the Asia Cup, starting August 27. Kohli, who hasn’t played competitive cricket since India’s tour of England in June, will be in action when India take on Pakistan in their first match. Dubai 28 Aug.
