Aster Healthcare to open 550-bed super specialty hospital in Kerala

Aster DM Healthcare on Friday announced the launch of its latest integrated advanced 550-bed healthcare facility in Trivandrum, Kerala. The company plans to invest a total of Rs 5,000 crore. 500 crores for the entire project. This will be Aster’s 7th hospital in Kerala and 16th in India. The 550-bed hospital will have several centers of excellence catering to the needs of a super-specialty hospital in the region.

This super-specialty facility will have multiple centers for clinical excellence that will cater to the functions of Cardiac Sciences, Organ Transplant, Neurosciences, Orthopedics, Oncology, Urology & Nephrology, Gastro Sciences, and Women and Child Wellness.

The hospital will provide high dependency units including OPD, IPD, ICU, NICU, PICU and transplant ICU, day-care support and 24-hour trauma and emergency response services. Robotics and new generation systems will be introduced gradually.

The hospital will be built in an area of ​​5.76 lakh sq ft, excluding a provision of 1 lakh sq ft for multi-level car parking space, with a capacity of 350 beds in the first phase which is expected to be commissioned by FY26.

Aster currently provides employment to approx. 8290 professionals including doctors and nurses in Kerala. With the new hospital in Trivandrum expected to add 2000 jobs, Aster will provide employment to over 10,000 professionals in the state.

With a large presence in 5 states – Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the group is introducing world-class healthcare with state-of-the-art infrastructure, advanced diagnostic procedures and traditional methods to local patients in India.

The hospital will aim to maximize the benefits of providing cohesive units for diagnostic and pharmaceutical services.
