The 4.0-litre V8 is now tuned to produce 697 bhp and 900Nm, which is an increase of 155 bhp and 200Nm over the DBX (V8).
Aston Martin has revealed the ultra high performance DBX707 and claims it to be the fastest and most powerful iteration of the SUV. Aston Martin eloquently states that the DBX707 gets ‘extraordinary precision, world-beating power and speed matched by dynamic flair’ and we have no doubts because what’s under the hood is simply exceptional.
The 4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 has been used to its full potential. Led by Aston Martin’s head of powertrain engineering, Ralf Eilenberger, the DBX707’s engine now features a ball bearing turbocharger and a bespoke engine calibration that liberates more power and torque. Also, Aston Martin’s flagship high performance SUV is mated to a 9-speed ‘Wet Clutch’ automatic transmission. Capable of handling a much higher torque loading than a regular torque converter automatic, this high-performance transmission allows the 4.0-litre V8’s output to peak at 697 bhp and 900Nm, an increase of 155 bhp and 200Nm Is. DBX (V8).
The adoption of the new wet clutch transmission brings further benefits. The torque converter changes gears most quickly than the transmission. The sense of change is more immediate and direct, giving the driver an increased sense of control and responsiveness, and a dramatic character change from the DBX (V8). Launch capability has also improved, contributing to the DBX707’s 0-100 kmph time of 3.3 seconds.
Integral to the DBX707’s suite of performance enhancements is the standard setting of carbon-ceramic brakes. Measuring 420mm front and 390mm rear, these CCB discs are gripped by 6-piston calipers and result in a weight reduction of 40.5kg. Modifications to the braking system’s hydraulic sizing and booster tune improve pedal feel and improved braking response for greater accuracy and driver confidence. Improved brake cooling is achieved by drawing air from both the main cooling intake and the underfloor, with high performance brake pads providing excellent friction stability over a wide temperature range.
Wheels and tires are 22-inches as standard (in a choice of Sport and Ribbon designs), with optional 23-inch alloy wheels offered in a choice of Textured Black or Satin Black with diamond turned highlights. The adoption of 23-inch wheels also delivers dynamic benefits, with larger diameter tires providing better steering response, better primary body control and better lap times.
The DBX707 also features a new version of the Electronic Limited Slip Rear Differential (E-Diff). Strong enough to handle a full 900Nm of torque, it has a revised (smaller) final drive ratio of 3.27, compared to 3.07 for the DBX V8. This aids in the DBX707’s sprinting capability through lower gears and increases in-gear response, while maintaining the efficiency and cruising refinement offered by the 9-speed transmission.
Torque distribution front-to-rear remains fully automatic, with the ability to send up to 100% of torque to the rear axle on demand. Careful calibration of the E-Diff ensures that the DBX707 has the cornering agility, sporting feel and dynamic character of a true sports car. One that integrates chassis and powertrain technology to find the smoothest handling balance and maintains the optimum combination of traction and agility at all times.
The key to the DBX707’s exceptional handling is its air suspension system. Retaining the original architecture and triple volume air chambers of the DBX V8 – already regarded as the best handling SUV in the market – the DBX 707 features a dedicated chassis tune that is optimized for its uncompromising demands and purposes.
Starting with the suspension, the DBX707 features new damper valving and re-calibration of dynamic spring volume switching to improve body control and steering response. The electronic power steering system has also been adjusted to improve steering feel, with more effort build-up center to help the driver get a clear picture of the increased cornering load and available grip.

Tobias Morse, Chief Executive Officer, Aston Martin, said, “Since its first introduction, the DBX has represented Aston Martin’s dynamic and design values in a way that proves that not all SUVs have to make equal compromises. With the DBX707 We have pushed boundaries. To create a car that sets new benchmarks of performance and desirability in every segment. The fastest, most powerful, best-handling and most attractive car of its kind, this Aston Martin gives SUV performance takes you to the top of it.”
