Zagreb: A Poland-registered bus carrying pilgrims to Bosnia slammed off a highway in the northern Croatia At least 12 people were killed and several others were injured in the early hours of Saturday, police and officials said. Croatian police said on Twitter that “11 people were killed and several injured, according to preliminary information from the ground, when a bus with a Polish license plate skidded”.

Croatia’s state HRT television reported that about 30 people were injured, many more seriously. It said the most likely cause of the accident was the driver falling asleep.
