Three people have been arrested for the shooting death of gangster-politician Ateeq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf Ahmed According to the FIR, he told the police that he wanted to destroy the gang and make a name for himself.
On the night of April 15, the two brothers were shot dead by three men posing as journalists while talking to the media, when the policemen were taking them to a medical college in Pragyaraj for examination.
Shahganj police station SHO Rajesh Kumar Maurya said on April 16, “The three attackers have been identified as Lavlesh Tiwari (22) of Banda, Mohit alias Sunny (23) of Hamirpur and Arun Maurya (18) of Kasganj. “

He said an FIR has been registered against them under IPC sections 302 (punishment for murder) and 307 (attempt to murder) as well as other sections under the Arms Act.
Police said Lovelesh suffered injuries during the cross-firing, and was undergoing treatment at the Swaroop Rani Medical College in Pragyaraj.
Police have also recovered the weapons used in the crime from the spot.
The accused told the police that they want to make their name and identity in the state by eliminating the gang of Atiq and Ashraf and they will definitely get the benefit in future.
He also said that they could not have escaped after the crime as the police, acting swiftly, had caught them.
“Ever since we came to know about the police custody of Atiq and Ashraf, we were planning to kill them. So we introduced ourselves as journalists and when we got the right opportunity, we pulled the trigger and executed the plan,” one of the accused told the police. Briefing reporters about the incident, Commissioner of Police, Prayagraj, Ramit Sharma said on April 15 that the three assailants arrested soon after the incident joined the group of journalists who tried to take sound bites from Ahmed and Ashraf. Was doing.
“As per the mandatory legal requirement, Atiq Ahmed and Ashraf were brought to the hospital for medical examination. As per preliminary information, three persons posing as journalists approached him and started firing. Ahmed and Ashraf were killed in the attack. The attackers have been apprehended and are being interrogated,” Mr Sharma said.
Officials said Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has constituted a three-member judicial commission to probe the murder of Atiq and his brother.
