During the meeting, the Home Minister was briefed about the steps taken to eliminate terrorism from the Union Territory and the anti-infiltration measures by the security forces, officials said.
The meeting was attended by top officials of the civil administration, including the lieutenant governor and senior security officers from the Army, CRPF, police and other agencies, he said.

‘Nobody can hinder Kashmir’s development’
In the evening, Shah interacted with the members of the J&K Youth Club and explained how life in Kashmir has changed since the Center withdrew its special status.
Amit Shah told youth, “August 5, 2019 will be written in golden letters. It was the end of terrorism, nepotism, corruption.”
He said militancy has reduced in the last two years and stone pelting has almost disappeared.
Shah also assured strict action against those trying to ruin the peace of Jammu and Kashmir and obstruct development in the Union Territory.
He said that it is the responsibility of the youth to contribute to the development of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Earlier a common youth of J&K could not imagine becoming Chief Minister, Union Minister. It was limited to few families. Prime Minister Narendra Modi made it possible that common youth thought of becoming MLA, MP, Chief Minister Maybe.. Democracy has been brought to the grassroots level. It was earlier confined to a few families.”
Roadmap for ‘Statehood’
Shah also emphasized the government’s commitment to bring peace and development in Jammu and Kashmir.
Rest assured, the journey of development in Kashmir will not stop and no one will stop J&K from becoming a model state in terms of development, peace, infrastructure and prosperity, he said.
Shah said that he has promised in Parliament that the statehood of Jammu and Kashmir will be restored and this will be done after the assembly elections.
