Australian government cannot win majority in elections: TV stations – Times of India

SYDNEY: Australia’s ruling Conservative government will not win enough seats to form a government, two television stations said on Saturday.
Counting of initial votes showed Prime Minister Scott MorrisonThe U.S. conservative coalition and Labor opposition lost ground to smaller parties and climate-focused independents, raising the prospect of a hung parliament.
“At the moment, I don’t see the coalition winning a majority on these numbers,” Australian Broadcasting Corp election analyst Antony Green said in a live broadcast.
“At the moment, the coalition cannot get a way of 76,” he said, adding that the minimum number of seats a party must win to secure a majority in a parliament of 151 seats.
A Chiron featured by News Corp-owned cable TV channel Sky News stated: “The Sky Projects coalition cannot win a majority.”
