The total sales of Honda Cars India in February 2022 stood at 9,524 units. Compared to 10,311 units sold during the same month in 2021, Honda saw a year-on-year decline of 7.6 per cent.

Honda Cars India has released the monthly sales numbers for February 2022, during which the carmaker’s total sales stood at 9,524 units. Compared to 10,311 units sold during the same month in 2021, Honda saw a year-on-year decline of 7.6 per cent. At the same time, as compared to 12,149 vehicles sold in January 2022, Honda Cars India witnessed a significant month-on-month decline of 21.6 per cent. Honda says the ongoing shortage of semiconductor chips has impacted vehicle production, later affecting dispatches to dealers.
Commenting on the company’s sales performance, Yuichi Murata, Director, Marketing and Sales, honda cars india Ltd. said, “We are seeing an improvement in consumer sentiment as the COVID-19 situation eases and markets are opening up. This is positive for the industry. On the supply side, chip shortage impacted our production and dispatch. We have continued to do so. Feb’22. We expect the situation to improve in the future so that we can more effectively meet the market demand.”

Honda exported 2,337 cars from India in February 2022, showing a massive 137 percent growth
For the domestic market, Honda sold 7,187 units in February 2022 in India. Compared to 9,324 vehicles sold during the same month in 2021, carmakers saw a massive 30 per cent year-on-year decline. Compared to 10,427 vehicles sold in the domestic market, in January 2022, the company saw a steep decline of 31 per cent in MoM.

However, February 2022 saw the company’s exports increase by almost 2.5X. Last month, Honda exported 2,337 cars from India, a whopping 137 per cent growth in 2021 as compared to 987 vehicles exported during the same month. At the same time, as compared to 1,722 units exported in January 2022, the growth of MoM stood at around 36 per cent.
