Toyota Kirloskar Motor has released the monthly sales numbers for January 2022, during which the company’s total sales stood at 7,328 units. Compared to 11,126 vehicles sold during the same month in 2021, the carmaker saw a year-on-year decline of over 34 per cent last month. At the same time, Toyota registered a month-on-month decline of more than 32 percent against 10,832 vehicles sold in December 2021. One of the main reasons for this decline in sales is the ongoing shortage of semiconductor chips which has impacted vehicle production in India.

Commenting on the month’s performance, Atul Sood, Associate Vice President, Sales & Strategic Marketing, TKM said, “We started the new year with the launch of the new Camry Hybrid. In India, Camry Hybrid has carved a niche for itself and has garnered very enthusiastic customer orders last month.
