Srinagar:
The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Wednesday issued a moderate danger avalanche warning in four districts in view of the recent snowfall in the Valley.
“Avalanches with medium danger level are likely in Baramulla, Ganderbal, Kupwara, Bandipora above a height of 2,400 meters in the next 24 hours,” an official said here.
The chances of avalanches are high due to the approaching Western Disturbance, he said.
People have been advised not to venture into avalanche-prone areas, the official said.
The warning came on a day when two Polish skiers were killed and 19 other foreign tourists were rescued after an avalanche in Gulmarg area of Baramulla district.
