Eicher Motors Royal Enfield’s parent company Limited (EML) has acquired B. announced the appointment of govindrajani As the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the motorcycle brand. Prior to this, Govindarajan served as the Executive Director of Royal Enfield Since August last year, and before that, he was the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at the company since 2013.
In addition, Govindarajan will also serve as a whole-time director on the board of EML. He has spent over 23 years working at Royal Enfield and Eicher Motors, and over the years, has led several major developments, including the likes of HimalayaAlong with the Continental GT 650 and Interceptor INT 650, the recent J-platform based Meteor and Classic 350 model.
The announcement was made along with the company’s Q4 FY2022 results, following the meeting of the Board of Directors held on Friday, May 13, 2022. In announcing the company’s Q4 FY2022 results, B Govindarajan, CEO, Royal Enfield and Whole Time Director, EML, said, “As we move forward, we remain focused on creating products and delivering experiences that are more than just a pure motorcycle. Eicher Motors on Friday reported a 16% rise in its consolidated net profit after tax for the fourth quarter ended March 2022, led by steady growth in business verticals. The company had reported INR 526 crore during the January-March period of FY 2021-2022.
In the fourth quarter of FY22, Royal Enfield recorded sales of 1,82,125 motorcycles, down 10.4% from 2,03,343 motorcycles sold during the same period in FY 2020-21. However, total consolidated revenue from operations rose to Rs 3,193.32 crore, up 8.60% as compared to Rs 2,940.33 crore in the year-ago period.
