“We are a party of principles. Personal relationships are one thing, and principles are another. We are not enemies of anyone, but our politics is based on principles.”
He said that he was fine even at the age of 94 and hence is contesting the elections. “I got Covid, so there is some weakness,” he told CNN-News18, asking party workers at his residence to campaign in Lambi’s villages as he rested for a day.

Recalling his days as chief minister and calling for the party’s alliance with the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Badal said he was a “main sevadar” and the Khalsa Panth and the Dalit Brotherhood had “old links”. “Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is a new entrant, their leaders may not even know how many districts there are in Punjab. He never raised any slogan in favor of Punjab. They want thermal plants in Punjab to be closed, saying that Delhi brings smoke. They want to send stubble burning farmers to jail in Punjab.
