Baghdad: Drone attack on US forces foiled west of Baghdad – Times of India

Baghdad: On Tuesday, two explosives-laden drones were shot down IraqUS air defense as they approached Ain al-Assad Airport, which hosts the US military, to the west of BaghdadAn official of the US-led International Military Alliance said.

Although the official did not say which country in the coalition carried out the attacks or who was responsible for the launch sites, Iranian-backed militia forces have occasionally targeted US forces in both Iraq and Syria.
The United States is leading an international military coalition fighting Islamic State militants in Iraq and Syria.
There are about 900 US troops in Syria and another 2,500 in Iraq.
