It will continue to be powered by a 4080W BLDC motor powered by a 50.4V Lithium Ion battery. The set up produces 16.2 Nm of torque and can charge the Ion a single charge for a range of up to 90 km. Bajaj Auto also offers a 3-year, 50,000 km warranty on the IP67 rated battery. Since its launch in 2019, the company has reportedly sold over 14,000 units of the Chetak Electric.

Bajaj Auto is currently setting up its new manufacturing plant at Akurdi, Pune. The plant is capable of producing up to 5 lakh EVs annually. Production for Chetak Electric and the company’s other brands such as KTM, Husqvarna and Gas Gas is expected to eventually take place at this plant. The facility is reportedly spread over half a million square feet and will generate employment for over 11,000 people.
