BENGALURU: Sharing nude pictures of his fiancée with his friends and uploading them on social media proved costly for the 27-year-old doctor after the woman and three of her friends allegedly killed her last week.
Dr. Vikash Rajan, a resident of BTM Layout and Chennai, was attacked on the midnight of September 10 by the woman and her two friends Sushil and Gautam, all residents of BTM Layout and Architect. Police are on the lookout for another accused, Surya, who is also an architect.
According to police, Vikash completed MBBS in Ukraine and practiced in Chennai for two years and moved to Bengaluru four months ago, where he went to take coaching for the Foreign Medical Graduates Examination (FMGE), conducted by the National Medical Commission. There is a screening test.
The attack took place at Sushil’s residence in New Mico Layout near Begur. Vikash suffered serious injuries and was admitted to the hospital. He died on 14 September.
The attempt to murder case registered against the suspects was later converted into a murder case based on a complaint lodged by Vikas’s elder brother Vijay.
Vikash was in a relationship with the woman for two years and they got engaged after their families gave the green signal for their marriage. But Vikas allegedly opened an account on a social media platform using the name of one of his friends and uploaded nude pictures of him. He also shared them with some friends from Tamil Nadu.
The woman was surprised to see her pictures on Instagram on 8 September. He asked Vikas about this. He reportedly claimed that he did it for fun. Due to this, both of them got into a fight. He discusses this with his classmate Sushil, and they plan to teach him a lesson and take Gautam and Surya along.
As per the plan, the woman took Vikas to Sushil’s house on September 10. The suspects attacked him with mop, water bottle and hands. Since they did not intend to kill Vikas, they took him to the hospital after he fainted. The woman informed Vijay about the assault. She told Vikash’s brother that she had gone to his friend’s house with Vikash, and she went outside the house to make a phone call when her friends started a fight with Vikas, and they assaulted her.
Investigation revealed that the woman’s friends attacked Vikas on his instructions. Police made him an accused and arrested him along with Sushil and Gautam on 16 September and produced him in the court. The court sent him to police custody for further investigation.
