Sri Sangana Basava Swami, the head of the Basava Yoga Mandap of Balobal Math near Gokak in Belagavi district, died of a heart attack on November 16.
While addressing the audience on his birthday, 54-year-old Rishi fell on his chair. Other owners and dignitaries present on the stage tried to help by taking him to the hospital. But he was declared brought dead at Gokak Hospital. Doctors told that he had suffered a severe heart attack.
A 10-second clip of him pausing briefly before falling on his chair was shared widely on social media. The video clip was captured by a devotee.
