Battery, an electric vehicle start-up based out of Jaipur, has moved to a bigger factory with more production capacity, even as the demand for EVs across India has increased significantly. According to BattRE, with this new expansion step, the company plans to increase its manufacturing capacity to 4,000 units per month, which is a massive 300 percent increase in production. The electric two-wheeler segment is in the midst of a boom, and as per most estimates, the next few years will see significant growth for this segment in metros as well as in Tier II and Tier III cities.

Nischal Choudhary, Founder, Battray, said on the occasion, “This factory expansion will cater to the growing demand for e-scooters, which we anticipate to grow manifold in the next few quarters. Further, with an ARR of ₹120 crore, We plan to invest more in our production and R&D capabilities, add world-class products, strengthen our retail and partner network and work further to build an EV ecosystem in India.”

To fuel this growth, the company is adding two new products to its portfolio with plans to launch them in the next 3-4 months. The start-up is also working towards building the EV ecosystem in India, which already has over 500 recharge stations installed across the country. Additionally, the company has trained existing petrol two wheeler repair shops to service electric vehicles. Better Electric Mobility is headquartered in Jaipur, and was established in 2017.
