“BCCL achieved record growth in coal production and dispatch in February 2022 as compared to the corresponding month of the previous financial year,” the miner said in a statement on Saturday.
Production in the previous month increased by 61 per cent to 3.24 million tonnes as compared to 2.01 million tonnes in February 2021.
BCCL said coal offtake stood at 2.93 million tonnes last month, up 66 per cent from 1.76 million tonnes a year ago.

The company also claimed that it supplied 59 per cent more coal to power sector consumers during the current financial year.
