In Ranchi, Jharkhand, a group of Muslim men barged into a government school carrying weapons and forced the girls to accept them as friends. The goons threatened to kidnap the girls if their orders were not followed.
As some teachers and students stood in front of them, they were also threatened and beaten up.
According to the class IX student, tribal and other Hindu girls have been receiving such threats continuously for a week.
The police have registered an FIR after a written complaint from the girl students and the school management. A 5-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted to investigate the matter. However, no arrest has been made in this case so far.

“It is useless to try to give a communal color to the matter. The people here are intelligent. The police will not touch the innocent but the guilty will not be spared either,” senior police officer Naushad Alam told India Today TV.
The BJP, running in opposition in the state, has attacked the Hemant Soren government on the issue, claiming that the incidents of love jihad and hooliganism are continuing unabated in the state. “Some frustrated Muslim men are targeting Hindu daughters and the government is doing nothing to stop it,” the BJP said.
Hemant Soren, who has been struggling to save his ministers and MLAs from defections, is battling rising cases of violence against girls from Hindu and tribal communities. He is also fighting corruption charges in an illegal mining scam, which led to rampant corruption in the state.
Recently, a girl in Dumka was set on fire by her pursuers for allegedly refusing her progress. He later died of his injuries in the hospital. A few days later, in Dumka too, a tribal girl was found hanging from a tree after she was allegedly raped.
