Kolkata: West Bengal It now has 7.4 crore voters, recording the highest sex ratio of 966 female voters per 1,000 male voters.

Final electoral list published by Election commission Wednesday shows 7.4 crore voters, which is 10.6 lakh more than the 7.3 crore in the draft voter list published in November 2021.
Bengal has 3.7 crore male voters and 3.6 crore female voters. So the difference is only 13.1 lakhs. There are 1,642 third gender voters.
6,00,32663 out of 7,29,24,106 voters exercised their franchise during the 2021 Bengal Assembly elections. Out of 3,72,32,533 male voters, 3,03,12,159 had cast their vote and out of 3,56,90,037 female voters, 2,91,75,288 had cast their vote. The draft list published in November had a sex ratio of 962 females per 1,000 males.
New registrations saw a substantial increase of 2.4%, the highest in recent years. In the draft rolls, the enrollment of new voters in the 18-19 age group was 1.1%.
An Election Commission official said people can enroll their names in the electoral rolls throughout the year and ask for transfer if they shift. People can also file a complaint if the name is removed from the list.
