senior BJP leader Tathagata Roy was raising questions for the last several months About the inclusion of actors like him in the party and being given tickets for the elections. He accused BJP’s national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya and former state president Dilip Ghosh of inducting actors into the party and alleged that the party’s choice of candidates was one of the reasons for losing the election.

Several actors from the Bengali film industry, also known as Tollywood, were given tickets by the BJP, but none of them managed to win the election this year.
