Bengaluru Open: Saketh Myneni and Ramkumar Ramanathan storm into final

Third-seeded Indian pair of Saketh Myneni and Ramkumar Ramanathan advanced to the men’s doubles final of the Bengaluru Open ATP Challenger with easy straight sets wins over J Clarke and Mark Polmans here on Friday.

They will take on the French pair of Hugo Grenier and Alexandre Müller, who defeated the second-seeded Austrian-Czech pair of Alexander Erler and Witt Kopriev 6-3, 6-4 in the summit clash.

In the singles event, Croatia’s qualifier Borna Gojo continued his dream as he advanced to the semi-finals with a 7-5, 6-4 win over high-ranked Belgium’s Kimar Koppajans.

The 28-year-old will meet Frenchman Alexandre Müller in the last four matches after defeating Turkey’s Kem Ilkel 6-4, 7-6 (7) in another quarter-final played at the KSLTA Stadium.

However, there was a major disappointment for tournament top seed and Croatian strong contender Jiri Vesli, who had to miss his quarterfinal match against sixth seed Enzo Koukad due to severe stomach ache due to food poisoning.

Enzo won the first set 6-4 before Jiri threw the towel.

In the second semi-final, the Frenchman will take on Taipei’s Chun-Sin Tseng who defeated qualifier Brazilian Gabriel DeCamps 6-4, 6-4 in another last-eight match.
