The new terminal at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru now has 5G connectivity. Airtel on Thursday announced the deployment of Airtel 5G Plus in Terminal 2, as South India’s busiest airport gears up for its formal inauguration. Mobile phone users can now enjoy lightning-fast speeds at arrival and departure terminals, lounges, boarding gates, migration and immigration areas, security gates and baggage claim belt areas.
All Airtel customers with 5G smartphones will be able to enjoy the high-speed Airtel 5G Plus on their existing data plans. There is no need to change the SIM as the existing Airtel 4G SIM is 5G enabled.

The new terminal in Garden is set to increase BLR Airport’s passenger capacity by an additional 25 million annually, which is only the first phase of the expansion project. On completion of the second phase, an additional 20 million passengers can travel per year. The total built up area of T2 will be 2.55 lakh sqm.
All arrivals are planned on the ground floor, while departures will be on the first floor. Special features include a lagoon with a large outdoor garden, a multi-modal transportation hub including the Namma Metro, rooftop solar panels, artificial waterfalls, elevated walkways and green seating areas.
