Nagpur: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chief Mohan Bhagwat He said that there is no need to create more controversy at places of worship. He insisted that the issue of Gyanvapi Masjid can also be resolved amicably by Hindus and Muslims.
“There’s no need to find Shivling In every masjid,” Bhagwat said while addressing the RSS workers undergoing their third year training course, which takes place annually in the city.
Bhagwat said the RSS had participated in the Ayodhya temple campaign “for some very important reason”. “It was also clarified that the organization will no longer be a part of any new agitation. There is no need to raise new disputes every day,” he said.
Referring to the Gyanvapi Masjid issue, Bhagwat said some incidents have happened in history. “These (events) cannot be changed by the Hindus or the Muslims of the country,” he said.
Bhagwat said, “The invaders started demolishing temples to crush the morale of the Hindus and also left a mark among the newly converted Muslims.”
Bhagwat said that the Muslims of India are “descendants of Hindus and even Kshatriyas, who were converted to a different religion”.
“Hindus should understand while raising any such issue that Muslims are their own people whose religion was changed. If they are ready to return, we will welcome them with open arms. Even if they do not want to, then resentment. There is no reason for this. Indians already worship many gods. There are many religions in the country and Muslims will remain one of them.”
Bhagwat said the issue of Gyanvapi Masjid can also be resolved through dialogue between the two communities. “If it goes to court, the decision should be acceptable to both parties,” he said.
The RSS chief said both the communities also need to exercise restraint and not provoke each other. He said Hindus have always “shown restraint”.
