Biggest Indian EV news on Independence Day! Ola announces electric car with 500 km range – Times of India

Today on the occasion of 75th Independence Day of India, Ola Electric During the live stream announced its much awaited electric car. Hailstone Founder and CEO of Electric, Bhavish Aggarwal revealed that the company will launch a made-in-India electric car with a range of 500 km. The EV will be launched in the country in 2024.
While Ola Electric refrained from revealing too many details, the company confirmed its range, as well as its acceleration time. The electric division of Ola claims that its first car will accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 4 seconds, and that can be honestly claimed. For reference, the Kia EV6 that was recently launched in the country at a base price of Rs 59.95 lakh (ex-showroom), sprints to 100 kmph from standstill in 5.2 seconds.

In addition to the above specifications, Agarwal revealed that the electric car will have an all-glass roof, keyless entry and will be “handle-less” – which suggests that it could have electric opening doors. The car’s drag coefficient (Cd) value is claimed to be less than 0.21, making it extremely aerodynamic, which will help it achieve excellent range. “This will be the best performance, best design and best technology ever in a car in India,” said the CEO of Ola Electric.
The electric car will be manufactured at Ola’s futuristic factory in Tamil Nadu along with the company’s electric scooter. Apart from the electric car, Ola also launched its entry-level S1 scooter at a starting price of Rs 99,999 (ex-showroom) during the same live stream.
