The BJP has appointed three observers for the by-elections to four assembly seats in Tripura. A senior party leader gave this information on Wednesday.
Bypolls to four assembly constituencies- Agartala, Town Bardowali, Soorma and Jubrajnagar will be held on June 23 and counting of votes will take place on June 26.
BJP National President JP Nadda has appointed three observers (in-charge) for the by-elections in Tripura.
A senior party leader said the three office-bearers included party general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya, Assam cabinet minister Ashok Singhal and Assam chief minister’s political secretary Jayanta Mulla Barua.
The last date for filing nomination papers ends on June 6.
He said Singhal met state Union minister Pratima Bhowmik at her residence. Chief Minister Manik Saha, who is also the party’s state president, on Wednesday held an organizational meeting for the bypolls and devised a strategy for it.
