BJP Calls for West Bengal Bandh on Monday as Violence Mars Civil Elections; DG said voting peaceful

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has called for a bandh in West Bengal on Monday after violence broke out in various parts of the state amid polling for 108 municipalities on Sunday.

According to the opposition, there were incidents of violence in North 24 Parganas, Birbhum, Rajpur, Sonarpur of South 24 Parganas, even with journalists being assaulted at some places.

However, DG Manoj Malviya said, Election It happened peacefully. There is no report of bullet anywhere. Strict action will be taken if normal life is disrupted due to the bandh.

Congress state president Adhir Chaudhary said, “There has been widespread violence in Bengal, anyone can call for a bandh. This bandh has been called by BJP. If we had the strength, we would have called for a bandh.

In Joynagar of South 24 Parganas, the Congress accused of firing and also released the video of the incident. The administration has denied the claim.

In North 24 Parganas’s Kamarhati, the opposition alleged misconduct and even vandalizing cars. Trinamool Congress denied this.

Partha Chatterjee, General Secretary TMC“It is a conspiracy by the opposition to defame the government. They are nowhere in the fight and want to create problems. That’s why they have called for a bandh.”
