The NIA on Saturday arrested three more alleged conspirators in the murder of BJP youth wing leader Praveen Nettaru during searches at several places in Karnataka, an official spokesperson said.
The spokesperson said the National Investigation Agency conducted searches at five locations in Dakshina Kannada, Hubli and Mysore and arrested K Mohammed Iqbal, K Ismail Shafi and Ibrahim Sha.
The three were arrested from different villages in Dakshina Kannada, the official said, adding that digital devices and incriminating documents were also seized from their homes during the searches.
Sri Netaru, a resident of Bellary, was murdered with sharp-edged weapons, allegedly by activists of the Popular Front of India (PFI) on 26 July.
The spokesman said the case was initially registered at Bellare police station in Dakshina Kannada district on July 27 and the NIA re-registered the case on August 4.
The NIA said the three accused were arrested for their active involvement in the conspiracy to kill Nettaru. So far 10 accused have been arrested in this case.
The NIA has also announced a reward for providing information leading to the arrest of four other absconding accused. The spokesman said efforts were on to arrest him.
