BMW i4 electric sedan to make its India debut on April 28: Launch by mid-2022 – Times of India

BMW India is gearing up to unveil its all-electric i4 sedan in the Indian market on April 28. The luxury carmaker revealed this information at the India Art Fair where it showcased the one-time IX electric SUV.

BMW IX and its recent launch mini electricThe BMW i4 will be the third electric car in the carmaker’s line-up to enter India. Built on the new-gen 4 series, the all-electric i4 sedan will get a larger front grille, a signature coupe roofline, LED headlamps and blue accents as optional.

Talking about the interiors of the BMW i4, it will come equipped with a large 14.9-inch control screen and 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with iDrive8 software.

In the international market, the electric i4 sedan has been introduced in 2 variants – the M50 sedan and the eDrive40 Gran Coupe. According to media reports, BMW India will primarily introduce the eDrive40 Gran Coupe variant across the country.

Technically, the BMW i4 will use an 81.4 kWH battery that coupled with an electric motor will produce 330 hp of maximum power and 430 Nm of peak torque. according to WLTP As per the company’s claims, the i4 e-sedan will offer 483 km range per charge.

The sportier i4 M50 variant will be powered by twin electric motors that will deliver a massive power output of 529 hp. The company says that it is paired with the xDrive all-wheel-drive system and offers a range of 394 km. Using a DC fast charger, the BMW i4 battery can be charged up to 200 kW in just 10 minutes. With a normal charger, it can take up to 8 hours for the i4 electric sedan to charge to 100%.
