The special edition variant of this luxurious sports car has been priced at Rs 1.8 crore (ex-showroom), which makes it around Rs 6 lakh more expensive than the standard M5 competition. Available as a CBU, BMW has started accepting bookings for the limited edition sedan.
Like all 50 Zahras M Edition cars, the M5 Competition also gets the special ’50 Zahras of M’ badging that uses blue, purple and red semicircles. The logo can be seen on the front, rear as well as the wheel hub cap. The car is finished in a unique aventurine red paint scheme, meanwhile the grille surround, M-specific double bar, mesh on the gills, mirror cap and rear spoiler on the boot lid all get a high-gloss black finish.
The quad tailpipes are finished in black chrome while the brake calipers are painted red. The M5 Competition 50 Zahere M Edition sits on 20-inch M Jet Black alloy wheels. Other new features with the special edition variant of the sporty sedan include soft close doors and a comfort access system that includes keyless entry, automatic locking and contactless opening of the tailgate.
No mechanical changes have been made to the car. The M5 Competition 50 Zahere M Edition is powered by the same 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 that powers the standard version. This engine makes 625 hp of maximum power and 750 Nm of peak torque, helping the sedan to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds. Transmission duties are handled by an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
