Patna: The Bihar government on Thursday withdrew its decision to conduct the preliminary examination. Bihar Public Service Commission in two meetings. The decision was taken in view of the protest by civil services aspirants against this new pattern prescribed for the upcoming preliminary examination.

As the decision has been withdrawn, now the upcoming Preliminary Examination of 67th Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) will be held in a single sitting and not in two days as announced earlier.
“The decision to hold the upcoming preliminary examination of BPSC in one sitting was taken on Thursday in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The old pattern will be followed and the next preliminary examination of BPSC will be conducted in one sitting only,” according to a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).
Earlier, BPSC had announced that the preliminary examination of 67th CCE-2022 would be conducted in two days – September 20 and September 22 – in view of the large number of applicants registered for the exam.
Now, the commission will soon announce a new date for the Preliminary Examination of CCE-2022.
Civil service candidates were protesting on Wednesday Patna Against the new pattern of examination announced by BPSC. When the protesters became aggressive, the police resorted to lathi-charge.
Several people suffered minor injuries in the lathi charge. The protesting candidates were chased away by the police and some of them were detained for breach of law and order.
The 67th CCE preliminary exam was earlier held on May 8 but was canceled after the question paper leaked. Economic Offenses Unit of Bihar Police The case is being investigated and so far 18 people, including seven government officials, have been arrested.
